Do you remember first watching it? i do, it was litterly 24 hours ago right now, i had to wait till after school because it was out early morning and i had a huge exam,
And so now im watching the video, im thinking back to how much i have changed in a year, that video is self liberation, im crying. It reminds me of how this time a year ago i had no clue who i was, where i fit in, and i couldn’t handle my self or my sexuality, now, i am happier than ever. That video, what it stands for, it liberated me, and so, i would like to thank this video, Lady Gaga, and the monsters for helping find myself, allowing me to belong, and allowing me to accept it. Now the lyrics, as we have heard them so much, as somewhat everyday, and have almost lost the meaning, sometimes i forget how deep and beautiful the lyrics to the song are, and once in a while its nice to re discover it, like i did the first time, and really be moved, and say yes, i was born this way. this is who the fuck i am.
When Gaga writes a new album, she often expresses what she is exploring in outfits, clothing and hair styles before the music is published or even finished, such as when she wrote born this way, in the uk. She wore a range of horns, which she says shows how at the time she was exploring the idea of re birth, birth in different forms, and how you can be reborn again again as anything, or anyone you want to be, as you can see below
this is a very fame monster look, with a very born this way meaning, before any of us knew about the song or album
i saw the new Elle Uk shoot, and it instantly reminded me of this, she looks very fame monster, a similar hair cut, but also dressed very “you and i”
with this new almost stripped down look in the you and i video, the prelude of marry the night, and the new shoot, i thought perhaps again this is an intro to the new album, during the current, as we know she has begun writing, and has even agreed a duet with her dear friend elton
perhaps with the reveal of Gaga’s secret in the marry the night video, and her separation from luc, the new album will explore some of Gaga’s inner vulnerability
